Darren Landon

Darren Landon was first introduced to scuba diving by his father when he was a young boy and he became certified in order to experience the first hand stories his father would share. Once certified, his love for diving began to grow immensely because of the underwater wonders that he was able to experience. He once said, “the first time I dived in the ocean, it was very spiritual because of the abundance of life under the water”.

Darren is a PADI Course Director and Diveheart Instructor who believes in the healing power of scuba diving. He has been teaching scuba for 25 years, using his skills and passion to help people with mental health challenges, autisms and physical disabilities overcome their challenges and enjoy the underwater world. Darren’s vision is to use scuba as a tool for personal growth, empowerment, and therapy. That is why he co-founded IMURS, a non-profit organization that provides scuba therapy programs and training for people with special needs. Darren and his wife, Shantel, have three children who all scuba dive. They spend a lot of time together as a family at Lake Powell or participating in activities that bring them together.
