Healing Through Scuba Diving

Want to experience weightlessness and have a therapeutic experience using SCUBA? Disability IMURSion is just that. Our PADI instructors have been trained by Diveheart, the leading organization on diving with disabilities, to provide you with a warm water experience that is highly therapeutic.

Underwater, the human body is nearly weightless – which reduces swelling, takes the pressure off joints, and reduces back and neck pain.

A 2011 study conducted by Johns Hopkins University found, that “veterans with spinal cord injuries who underwent a four-day scuba diving certification saw significant improvement in muscle movement, increased sensitivity to light touch and pinprick on the legs.”
